This month, we are focusing on working alone and training our cleaners on identifying and controlling risks associated with working alone.
Happsa’s Compliance and Operations teams have held several training and refresher sessions throughout August onsite.
Happsa’s OHS Compliance Manager Ray Dole said that some cleaners can be isolated for periods of time when working inside many of the sites that Happsa provide services to including the multi-level buildings, school/TAFE sites, shopping centres etc.
“We want to remind staff to eliminate or reduce the risk of working alone.”
“As part of our training we are refreshing our staff and asking them to consider safety measures such as communication procedures whilst working alone, identifying possible risks and decision making,” said Ray.
Each month our OHS Compliance team run Safety Campaigns with differing topics with operational staff (site supervisors and cleaners). Staff are reminded and reinstructed on Occupational Health and Safety topics.
