Safety is everyone’s business

As we enter October, workplaces across Australia are gearing for National Safe Work Month, with this year’s theme emphasising that “Safety is everyone’s business.”

The theme emphasises the positive outcomes of good WHS risk management, highlighting individual, organisational, and wider community benefit.

Happsa’s OH&S Compliance Manager Ray Dole said that safety isn’t just a policy; it’s a culture.

“When we commit to safety, we protect not just ourselves, but our colleagues and communities.”

Throughout the month, Happsa will focus on different aspects of workplace safety each week:

  • Week 1: Work Health and safety fundamentals
  • Week 2: Psychosocial hazards
  • Week 3: Risk management fundamentals
  • Week 4: Musculoskeletal injuries

Ray noted, “By addressing these key areas, we can create safer workplaces and environments for everyone.

“As we engage with these critical topics, the message is clear: safety is a shared responsibility. Together, we can foster a culture that prioritises well-being at work, making it a top priority for all.”
