Happsa staff take part in Cultural Safety Training

Our team attended the Koorie Heritage Trust Cultural Safety Workshop today.

The half-day workshop explored aspects of Cultural Safety and how it applies to the workplace.

The team took part in a series of individual and group exercises, and group discussions to reflect on their own values and beliefs and how that may influence the workplace.

Happsa’s Managing Director Operations Harry Georgiou said the workshop was the next phase in Happsa’s Cultural Learning Strategy.

“We recently conducted a Cultural Awareness Survey to review any learning gaps that our people may have. Whilst our people have a good Cultural Competency, we found the next stage of our learning could focus on cultural safety practices in the workplace.”

“The workshop gave us set time to really think about and reflect on our cultural safety principals and practices and take action to continually review and hone these practices,” said Harry.

“Our aim has always been to present a diverse, inclusive and safe working environment for our people.”

Happsa is working through its recently endorsed Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan which outlines its vision and commitment for Reconciliation.
